We received the following from Luna Imaging about the AMICO and David Rumsey Map image collections via Luna Insight: Dear Insight Administrators, On Friday, April 22, 2005, a number of our customers were reporting intermittent connectivity to all of the davidrumsey.com servers. This included the AMICO collection as well as David's map collections and others. After spending the day researching the cause of this connectivity problem, we contacted Network Solutions, who were hosting David's DNS entries. As hard as it was to believe, Network Solutions indicated that all 100 of their DNS servers were down and offline. Not just one or two; their entire DNS infrastructure was offline. When we asked what we should do with our DNS services, they suggested that we move them. This is what we have done. We expect that activity may be intermittent for the next 24 to 48 hours. You may, however, not even notice this connectivity issue -- or you may not have any access -- depending on your DNS cache TTL. Please bear with us during this transitional period.
