Release 1622 consists of a small but important modification to expense
distribution for Postdocs. The only change is to PPP520.

The area that is changed is somewhat narrow-focus, but affects how you
view PostDoc data downstream. Per the release letter, "In Release 1612,
program PPP530 was modified to maintain separate Health, Dental, and
Vision benefit charges at the department level for Title Codes 3252, 3253,
and 3254. These departmental benefit charges for the Postdoc Titles are
then assigned special Object Code values (defined in CPWSXIC5)".

The key to keeping the dollars separate for Postdocs and non-Postdocs
is knowing what the title code is, and when the title code is not known,
the dollars default into non-Postdoc buckets.

When PPP520 creates the expense distribution workfile that feeds
PPP530, generally it carries along title codes, except in the case of
charging "leftover" benefit amounts, leaving title codes set to zero.
"Program PPP520 has been modified to include the Title Code within
the saved information whenever a payment is processed which is
marginally eligibility <sic> to receive the benefit charge. As per the
changes in Release 1615, for Postdoc Individuals, the DOS "PDW"
will continue to take precedence among all other DOS values when
saving marginally eligible payment lines for use in leftover benefit charges."

There are no table updates.

The release is designated as urgent "for those campuses requiring
strict Object Code reporting", and I think it would be advisable to
implement it in time for January monthly reporting, i.e., along with
r1615. May we have your ok to install?
