I'm sending this note just to make it official, although there's no question
that we must install r1546. The sole change is to the GTN number
associated with Depcare in copymember CPWSXIC2. It previously
was 225 and is changed to 335.

Critical paths:

- For Davis, Riverside, and Santa Cruz, r1546 must be installed
prior to commencement of 2003 tax processing (jobs PP*CYJ
   and PP*CYK)

- For Santa Barbara, ASUCLA, and Hastings which already have
completed their 2003 tax processing, we must start over again.
That means we'll definitely need to rerun PP*CYJ phase 1, PP*CYK,
and PP*CYJ phase 2. For ASUCLA and Hastings, we may also
need to rerun PP*CYJ phase 3. Please read the PAY-L note just sent
by Jerry about what must be done and where you have options.
In summary, it says that we'll need to re-create the extract data
files, the reports, and the data files that go to the governmental
agencies, however you have some options concerning printing
of W-2's. They can be completely re-created, or you can choose
to print forms for only those employees enrolled in Depcare.

The plan:

I would like your official approval to install as soon as you can for
our records, but in the interest of time, our general approach will be
as follows:

- I will install in production.
- That will make it possible for our Maintenance group to rerun the
full volume tests against the frozen production EDBs. I have asked
the group to compare the new test results against the prior results
(production output in the case of SB/AS/HA; test output in the case
of DV/RV/SC) so there won't be any surprises, though this being a
one line change, it's pretty safe.
- Once that's done, I will notify you and we can tackle the scheduling
once again. Of course we'll need input from SB/AS/HA regarding how
you would like to handle the W-2 form issue. We'll be glad to
identify the Depcare employees for you if you don't already know who
   they are.

Thank you all for your calm in the midst of these turbulent times!
