Release 1660 addresses problems with display of web PAN
data in Netscape and other (not named) browsers. There are
two flavors of problems, both corrected in r1660 by adding a
semicolon to the end of certain html tags:

1. In the appointment and distribution section, the html symbol &nbsp is
embedded in the FAU display, as follows:
3&nbsp404918 &nbsp19900 &nbsp1
2. When data is added to a field, in many cases, the PAN displays <<none>>
in the "original data" position. In Netscape the appearance is as follows:
<&ltnone>>

I recall hearing of the &nbsp problem from a couple of our sites
back in the early days of web PAN, and until now the only
recourse has been to switch browsers to Internet Explorer (IE).
Fortunately, due to the code architecture in PPS, all that's
required is to modify two copymembers and then recompile
eight programs, each corresponding to a different PAN
segment, such as those for work study or benefits changes.
There are no table updates.

Base Payroll has confirmed the success of the fix using
Netscape. Our testing has been limited to verifying that
there were no unintended effects in the IE environment.

The release letter cautions that the effect will be seen only
in new PANs; it will not change already-generated PANs.

May we have your ok to install?
