R1543 addresses two problems concerning the derivation of UC Paid Life
Insurance salary bases that were brought to our attention by ASUCLA
and Santa Cruz.
- PPP570 steps through each employee's distributions, selecting the active
ones and adding them up so that it can determine various insurance salary
bases. Unfortunately, in our December runs, it included the special START
distributions that are intended to reduce the amount of time worked, thus
adding to the totals and giving incorrect results. R1543 modifies the
program so that it will now bypass distributions containing START
DOS codes.
- Similarly, PPEM106, which performs UC Paid Life Insurance edits,
is modified to bypass distributions containing START DOS codes.
There are no table updates.
This release is urgent, and must be installed prior to the 'BOTH'
(advance and arrears) run of PPP570 in early January. One good thing
about the situation is that the 'BOTH' run using the r1543 version of
PPP570 will correct erroneous salary base values that you haven't already
identified and fixed manually.
Ok to install?
