Greetings;
As you are aware there are several processes in the year end list which must occur between the final compute paying in 2014 and the first compute paying in 2015. These include freezing the 2014 EDB for tax purposes, applying the Open Enrollment transactions and other rate and clean up activities.

We reviewed processing for the end of the year and realize that we have a potential issue affecting any campus that is running Bi-Weekly payroll. The final Bi-Weekly cycle for 2014 ends on 12/20/14 and it appears that the earliest the compute will run is 12/22/14 with some campuses aiming for 12/23/14 to pay for the Bi-Weekly cycle on 12/30/14.

This means however that we cannot run the Monthly pay cycle ending on 12/31/14 until after that time. Further there are, as noted above, a number of year end tasks which must be completed before the Monthly cycle can run. At this time we do not think that we can execute both the end of year tasks, which this year includes two EDB updates, as well as the MO computes in the normal 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM processing window.

We currently feel that the best solution to this dilemma would be to move the compute for the Monthly Pay Cycle to 12/26/2014. This will allow the maximum time for validation prior to the time when the bank files need to be transmitted to ensure deposit for payment on 1/2/2015.

While this is not yet critical, prompt attention to this matter will help us have a smooth 2014 year end. As always if you have any questions or comments please let us know.
