As you've no doubt read, Base Payroll has issued an urgent correction
in this release for a union reporting problem that occurred for August 2003
data. Specifically, the earnings for employees in all units except BX
were zero in the 'UNION495' files produced by program PPP495 as a
result of "problematic IF-ELSE" logic.
In addition to implementing the corrected program, we have been asked to
re-create the August files. There are no table updates.
PPP495 is run as part of monthly reporting, in the PP*MRK jobs, pointing
at month-end snapshot data in 'C' databases. We still have that data in
place, so we should be able to produce the replacement files via a partial
rerun of those jobs. Separate email from Jerry after issuance of the release
specified that they should be created no later than close of business,
next Wednesday, October 1st. We would want to do that anyway,
before we embark on September monthly reporting and overlay the
August data.
Hastings, as you have no union employees, we won't need to do the
rerun, but we will need to install the modified program.
All, may we have your ok to install r1521?
