The PID server which points to licensed electronic resources from both the
web version of the CDL-hosted databases (http://www.dbs.cdlib.org) and from
the CDL Directory of Collections and Services (http://www.cdlib.org).

The database which is most affected by the PID server being down is the
Periodicals Titles database. Any of the Link to Journal links in the
Periodicals Titles database which do not function are most likely using the
PID server to connect to the resource. You can verify this by placing your
mouse pointer directly over the Link to Journal link. If the link display
at the very bottom of your web browser includes with "http://uclibs/PID"
then the link to the ejournal will be down until the problem is resolved.

For any Directory record which seems not to function, you can place your
mouse pointer over the "go to it now" button to see if "http://uclibs/PID"
is part of the URL for the journal. If so, these links also will not work
until the PID server is back up.

We are working on correcting the problem and hope to have the server back
within the next hour or so. Please share this information with your
colleagues.
