The California Emergency Management Agency has issued the following statement regarding the current service outage affecting the UC Santa Cruz campus and surrounding areas:

Media outlets are reporting that a Verizon wireless fiber optic line has been cut in San Jose. Cell phone and 911 service as well as approximately 50,000 land lines were disrupted in and around Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. At this time, media reports state 911 service, as well as service to some land lines, has been restored. No estimated time for a full restoration of service was announced.

Currently, UCSC’s telephones, campus and library web sites are unavailable.  Additionally, circulation status information in catalog records for items held at UCSC is not available.  Please share this information with your colleagues.
