Please follow the links below to check out the full posts on the WESTinfo blog. ⮚ Cycles 12 & 13 Archiving Proposals Now Available: WEST has completed the collections analysis to identify archiving priorities for Cycles 12 & 13 and has distributed proposals to members for review and commitment. This analysis focused on identifying scarcely held journals, which the OCC prioritized for proposal to ensure their ongoing availability through members’ archiving and retention efforts. Members that submitted files for the Cycles 12 & 13 collections analysis may now access their Cycle 11 Collection Comparison reports in AGUA; updated disclosure data is also available through the On Demand Comparison tool. Read on<https://cdlib.org/cdlinfo/2022/08/24/cycle-11-2022-collection-comparison-reports-now-available/> for more details on how to access and leverage this data. ⮚ WEST Begins AGUA Development Phase 6: October marks the beginning of the sixth AGUA Development phase (Phase 6)! The WEST Operations and Collections Council (OCC) has identified 11 projects to be developed during Phase 6, which is anticipated to run through September 2023. Read on<https://cdlib.org/cdlinfo/2022/09/29/west-begins-agua-development-phase-6/> for an overview of the Phase 6 projects. ⮚ New Resource Supporting Voluntary Validation of WEST Bronze Archives: Over the summer WEST engaged in a research project to investigate members’ workflows transferring materials from open stacks to closed storage to identify intersections where routine collection management activities mirror the WEST Validation Standards. With this information, WEST has developed guidelines to support identification of these workflows and best practices for recording this information in disclosure records. Read on<https://cdlib.org/cdlinfo/2022/09/30/new-resource-supporting-voluntary-validation-of-west-bronze-archives/> for more information about this project and a link to the new Guidelines. ⮚ JRNL Pilot Project – Expanding Access to Facilitate Gap Filling: WEST is a member of the Journal Retention and Needs Listing project (JRNL), an excellent resource for displaying retention commitments and soliciting contributions to fill gaps in archived holdings. In August, JRNL launched a pilot project to invite non-member institutions to participate in gap filling by making offers to retention institutions.
