Release 1972 addresses two error reports regarding the History Data Base
update process.
The first (ER 2332) corrects a problem concerning Honors Data. If a user
changes an existing Honors Type without entering a new Honor Date, PPP742
(the history update main line program) will fail because a new Honor Date is
expected in the history update routine. To correct this problem, program
PPHNRHST has been modified to derive the Honor Date from the occurrence
key when it is not included in the employee change file.
Error report 2357 describes a problem that has plagued late-night on-call folks
for many years! In the past, when updating history (PPP742) with changes
from monthly maintenace, PPP742 would fail if an attempt was made to
process a delete (employee purged from EDB) when the employee had missing
records in the history IDI table. PPP742 will now issue a non-system-halt
message when that condition is encountered, and processing will continue.
TABLE UPDATES
The message table will be updated to add new message
74-246.
This release is designated as not-urgent, however if you could send the
approval soon we'd like to install the release Tuesday, April 05 (and schedule
the associated message table update Tuesday evening).
May we haveyour OK to install in production?
Thanks,
-JXC
