Subject: [Progressivelibrariansguild] Digital Rights in Libraries - event after ALA Annual in SF
I wrote to these lists about a month ago with some information about an
unconference I was organizing after ALA in June. After an overwhelming
amount of interest, we've decided to turn it into a much more in-depth,
two-day event, with issue-based sessions, technology trainings, and of
course, a traditional unconference track. We are developing the schedule
and will reach back out once it's complete, but here are the details so far:
Digital Rights in Libraries
June 29th and 30th, 1-7 pm each day
Noisebridge Hackerspace, San Francisco
Free as in libre, free as in gratis (donations to Noisebridge are
encouraged)
Speakers and technology trainers from Mozilla, Internet Archive,
Creative Commons, Hack the Hood, EFF, Freedom of the Press Foundation,
and more.
More information, including an encrypted registration form*, is here:
https://libraryfreedomproject.org/digital-rights-in-libraries/
*Your name and organization information is encrypted in transit and at
rest, which means that only the event organizers can see the
information, which will be stored locally on one of our computers.
Thanks all!
Alison
