Release 1596 responds to an assortment of error reports for
the PAN environment:
- improper behavior in web PAN on the INBX screen if a sort on
TYPE (type of reviewer) is requested and the number of PANs
exceed the warning limit. Instead of performing the sort, the
'narrow the selection?' screen is re-displayed.
- When a PAN is generated and the reviewer is not in the directory,
"the name fields from the previous reviewer for this PAN are
recorded on the PNA record and appear twice on the WEB PAN.
The name appears once correctly and once incorrectly in place of
the reviewer absent from the PAN Directory. The CICS PAN is
being processed correctly."
- There is a page forward problem for the CICS EENT screen on
which reviewers for PAN actions are identified. We've been
aware of this one for some time and have tweaked the UCWEENT
program on a local basis for sites that have reported the problem
to us. Now we'll be able to return to Base code.
- The last problem was experienced by Riverside and occurs only
for users who are authorized for web inbox but not web notification
selection. The scenario is that the user has enough PANs to
trigger the warning threshold message and wants to narrow the
selection, however, the tool required to do that is the notification
selection function for which the user is not authorized.
To get around this situation, r1596 introduces a clone of the
web notification selection function to be used only in conjunction
with inbox processing. The existing ucwinrs security profile for
the web environment will continue to be used for global selection
of PANs, whereas the scope of the new ucwinr2 security profile
will be limited to only those PANs directed to a user's inbox.
There are no table updates for r1596.
-------------------------------
It was discovered after r1596 was issued that it dropped r1595
code from two CICS programs: UCWEENT and UCWENPR.
R1600 adds back the dropped code and tags it appropriately
but does not otherwise modify the programs. It should be installed
at the same time as r1596 so as not to lose the r1595 page
numbering changes.
IMPLEMENTATION
Use of the new ucwinr2.d2w PAN selection function is controlled
via RACF like most other web functions, and to enable its use,
we must grant authority to user screen groups. If this step is
skipped, no one will be able to narrow their inbox selections,
so it's something we'll want to set up before installing the program
code.
The release letter stresses that any user who is authorized to
use the inbox function must also be authorized for the new function.
We can take care of setting up the RACF rules, modelling them
on the existing inbox rules. San Diego, your web RACF rules
are generic enough that they will cover new functions, thus no
update will be needed.
Ok to install r1596 and r1600 together?
