Release 1532 responds to a PostDoc problem reported by Riverside.
This one concerns the charges for PostDoc life insurance, which is
assessed on a head count basis (the dollar amount stored in system
parameter 189, initially $8.40 and now $4.20, times the number of 'lives' )
The correct amount was calculated and displayed in expense distribution,
but the amount in Self Billing was different and was not an even multiple
of the per-person rate. It was discovered that the employees whose rates
were not correctly calculated for Self Billing had VACation activity, which
resulted in some unintended tweaks to the dollar amounts. My
understanding is that PostDocs normally do not accrue and use vacation,
however some PostDoc employees had vacation time on the books from
prior employment. It's not a typical situation, but it can arise.
To correct this problem, r1632 modifies Self Billing program PPP536
to ignore DOS code VAC activity when it performs its calculation of
premiums for PostDoc life insurance.
