This past weekend (March 17-18, 2018) the Wiley Online Library (WOL) transitioned to the Atypon Literatum platform.  The top level Wiley Online Library domain will remain the same, but uses a secure URL (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/). Society partners such as AGU and Anthrosource will use the same platform, but will have a subdomain prefixing the main Wiley URL.

Unfortunately, resources (like ebooks) where the links to the online content are based on DOIs are not re-directing correctly.  CDL reported this problem with the DOIs not re-directing correctly (tagged High Importance) to Wiley yesterday.  Thus far, we have not received a response from Wiley customer support staff.

Until the problem is resolved, the simplest work-around is…

When you click a Wiley Online Library dx.doi.org link in a catalog record (for example, http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/9781119178361), the URL in the web browser’s address bar changes to https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/9781119178361, and the resulting ebook homepage does not include any way to access the online content.  See below.

If you manually change the “abs” portion in the center of the URL to “book” in the web browser’s address bar (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/book/10.1002/9781119178361), the URL works correctly and the online content displays.  See below.

We will update this CDLALERT as new information on this problem becomes available.  Additional problems can be reported directly to [log in to unmask].
