the FORCE11 Scholarly Communication Institute (FSCI), which will be held:
Virtually, Online: Monday, July 22nd through Friday, July 26th,
and
In-person at UCLA: Monday, July 29th through Wednesday, July 31st
Increasing Transparency, Integrity, and Trust in Research
is the FSCI 2024 theme. FSCI organizers seek course submissions contributing to this theme, though all ideas in scholarly communication are welcome for consideration. The theme will
also shape the institute’s plenary events. With the increasing prominence of AI, it is essential that the research and scholarly communication communities emphasize transparency, enhance integrity, and renew trust in our community’s work. We hope to focus
on these components as we present courses on topics within the scholarly communication ecosphere.
-
Course submitters can teach a virtual course, or an in-person course - and if you like, you can apply to do both!
-
In-person courses that are accepted will include free registration, transportation, and lodging at UCLA for the lead instructor, and one collaborator, if needed.
-
New instructors and proposals are encouraged to apply. Returning courses and instructors are also welcomed.
-
Courses are urged to incorporate practical tools as a way to illustrate key concepts. Proposals that are solely tutorials for a single platform or tool are discouraged.
Save these dates and consider
submitting a course proposal! Further, please help us get the word out to your colleagues in research and scholarly communication by sharing this information with your network. As always, thanks for your assistance in
helping FSCI to develop and grow.
