17 Sept. 2002 Yesterday (Sept. 16, 2002), Gale informed its listserv subscribers that a dramatic increase in the number of user sessions had caused the InfoTrac databases (Expanded Academic ASAP, Computer Database, and National Newspaper Index) to be quite slow. Today, another message was sent to the Gale listserv indicating that they are once again experiencing a problem similar to the one encountered yesterday. Gale is continuing to analyze the problem and hopes to have it rectified soon. Further news on the status of the problem will be sent as the information is made available. Please share this information with your colleagues.
