Hi folks,

I wanted to make sure folks were aware of the upcoming Next Generation Library Publishing Community Forum, taking place March 10th at 9 a.m. PT. (More information and registration link<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nglp-community-forum-bringing-our-work-to-life-tickets-265241914707?aff=ebdsoporgprofile> below.)

If you haven’t attended one of these before (or even if you have) these forums are a great way to get up to speed with what's going on with NGLP. This session will focus on the upcoming pilots (one of the pilots will be hosted by CDL!) and you'll get a sneak peek at the Web Delivery Platform and Analytics Dashboard.

As a reminder, our NGLP pilot (coming later this spring) will be used to gather input on the WDP & AD as potential replacements for existing eScholarship infrastructure. In other words, attending this forum will give you an early look at the possible future of eScholarship. 😎

Feel free to also pass this invite along to others who might have interest.

-justin

Mark your calendars!

NGLP’s second community forum, March 10th, 2022

Since you registered for our first community forum, we thought we would let you know, we have a second on its way!

Our first forum introduced NGLP’s holistic approach to empowering library publishers. Now, we are thrilled to share how we are bringing our work to life through our spring 2022 pilots!

In the first half hour, we’ll dive deep into this values-driven approach to empowering library publishers to lead change in scholarly communication. You’ll hear more about why values and principles form the foundation of our work and how we’re incorporating them at every step.

In the rest of the session, you’ll get an exclusive look at the latest iterations of our two software components, our Web Delivery Platform (WDP) that provides elegant and flexible content display, and our Analytics Dashboard (AD) that generates meaningful visualizations from usage and workflow data. You’ll also hear about three pilot implementations of these components, launching in March 2022, that will ensure that our software components are not only fit-for-purpose, but that they can be deployed and operationalized in ways that work for library publishers at different scales and in a range of contexts.

The pilots will provide models for three manifestations of library publishing: a consortial library publishing solution hosted and maintained in-house; a multi-tenant journal publishing solution hosted and supported by a third party service provider; and a hosted, turnkey, combined journal and institutional repository solution. You’ll hear about how pilots led by the California Digital Library, Longleaf Services, and Janeway will bring our code to life and provide an on-ramp for widespread adoption.

Throughout the session, we’ll invite you to share your questions and thoughts, and offer opportunities to get involved.
